Lexol Leather Conditioner Usage Instructions

  • First, make sure the leather surface is clean. Remove dirt, grime, and other reside with Lexol Step 1 All Leather Cleaner.
  • Once the surface is completely clean and dry, you're ready to move on to the conditioning step.
  • Add a small amount of conditioner to a towel or applicator pad and spread it around evenly.
  • Begin applying the product to the leather with a consistent, controlled action that equally distributes the conditioner on the surface. The proper amount of conditioner will coat the surface without leaving excess product that can't absorbed into the leather.
  • If you do have a little bit of excess, gently wipe it away with a clean towel or sponge.
  • For best results, let the conditioner dry naturally in an area that's not in direct sunlight. It should dry in a few minutes to produce a beautiful leather surface that's protected for the future!

Is Leather Conditioner same as a Leather Softener?

No, these terms describe two different types of products. Conditioners preserve the integrity of leather by replenishing and maintaining normal levels of moisture and oil to keep it supple from within. They typically use safer, more natural ingredients with little or no risk of damage. Leather is softened but remains strong and unaltered physically. Softeners, on the other hand, often use chemicals, oils, or wax that purposely change the texture of leather. While the leather may lose stiffness and become more pliable, the risk of damage is higher, and the lifespan is shortened.
