The SMC Pneumatics D-B54 sensor is a reed proximity switch designed to operate select SMC air cylinders. Reed style proximity switches use a magnetic field to close a piston and complete an electric circuit. Mechanical reed switches are a less expensive option than electronic switches and can operate with either AC or DC power.
